Saw this today in Pinterest and tracked it down as the album cover for Pyramids. Kinda spacey, experimental music, not my favorite, but it's ok and I love the artwork.
I've missed Emily's show the last couple weeks but I heard an interview with Cults on NPR or something a couple months ago and really loved them. These girls have got an old timey feel but with a modern kick. Hope you enjoy it too!
It used to be that I brought music with me for my little sister when I'd come to visit, but now that she's 16, it's definitely her that's a little more hip with the music scene than I am. Here's one that she introduced me to last visit that I quite like, Faded Paper Figures.
I came across the work of Penelope Reichley's work today and was so impressed! I guess I must have a bit of national pride in me, because I love the embroidered states necklace so much. Maybe I am also just enamored by the bright colors. She does custom pieces of other countries as well and her shop is calledIl Gato Sevatico, which means "wild cat" in Italian (and is one of my favorite Ratatat songs) and was inspired by all the stray cats around her neighborhood while she was living in Italy.
I missed Emily's show tonight, but picked this new favorite off her playlist. It's a trio from Montreal called Land of Talk. Lovely voice and I hope you enjoy it too!
It's Wednesday night, which means I'm listening to Emily's show on KRCL enjoying old favorites and new favorites. I wanted to share Words Make You Tired by Headlights, the song that Emily picked to play that caught my attention, but I can't seem to find a video for it online anywhere. My second choice was TV, but that wasn't embedable (is that in the dictionary yet?) Third time's the charm, hope you like this skeleton video for Secrets!
Found this new favorite from listening to Emily's show on Salt Lake City's KRCL. You can listen live Wednesday nights from 8:00 to 10:30 or view her past playlists. I also really liked the Phantogram track that followed.
Last one for tonight. I like these guys, as much for their music as for their use of those old school letter label makers for their logo. Eric Ronick (Panic at the Disco, Ambulance Ltd.) and Than Luu (M. Ward, Rachel Yamagata, shushshush) toured together in 2006 and this is the collaboration that resulted from meeting each other.
