I saw these doors on two separate walks and liked them both. The written out apartment number was unexpected, on my street at least and the circle door reminds me of a sea captain's home. Perhaps this captain, Sir Francis Drake.
I know it's winter time but I've been going through my old photos and came across these delights. Last April? I took a day trip over to the the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve and spent a few hours wandering around the trails through the poppies. They bloom every year between mid March through mid May and are worth a visit. Especially if you're a fan of orange. Or poppies. Or fields of flowers as far as the eye can see.
I just started donating my blood on a regular basis during this last summer and I highly recommend it. Every time you donate blood you could save up to 3 lives. The Red Cross needs a 5-7 day supply of blood to be prepared for an emergency, but so few donate during the winter months that they often have less than a 1 day supply. You can donate once every 56 days and it takes less than an hour each time. Besides feeling awesome that you helped someone, you also get perks every time you donate- like juice and cookies, coupons for pies, putting your name in a drawing for a $500 visa card, tickets to things and a neato donor card to carry around in your wallet. and if you're O+ (like me) or O-, you get to be a Universal HerO. I got a letter authenticating it today. It's so easy and so important, please sign up to donate today and become a regular donor!
I know I already have 2 for this month and I don't want to be greedy, but could I please have one more parking ticket? Wait, what's that? You say you left one on my car this morning? Oh, thank you! Thank you, Los Angeles!
Carnaby Street is a shopping section in London full of boutiques, some of which come from as early as 1958 when the rows of houses gave way to a smattering of stores. Bleeker Street is a line from Jonathon Logan's design team around the late 1960's that was named so to promote the popularity of the Carnaby area. Clever Nettle had this post about a luscious plum velvet vintage dress by Mr. Logan that she just picked up and her post inspired my own search...I was sold when I came across the Bleeker Steet tag. I might not be a rich girl, but I'm certainly feeling tight-fisted as of late.
